Late Friday, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kaczmaryk ordered a hold on federal approval of mifepristone, the first of two drugs prescribed in medical abortions. "The immediate impact of the ruling by Kacsmaryk, which does not go into immediate effect, was unclear," the Associated Press reports.

We just learned that both the House (153-0) and the Senate (39-0) unanimously passed HB58, the Supplemental Budget. It passed with an Emergency Preamble, allowing it to take immediate effect. Legislators have sent it to Governor Healey for her signature.

A Texas judge is set to hear arguments on Wednesday, March 15, at 9:00 a.m., in a case that could outlaw mifepristone, one of the drugs used in medical abortions. Currently, mifepristone is used in more than half of all U.S. abortions. In 2021, 8,311 medical abortions took place in the Commonwealth, just over 49% of the state's total number of abortions that year.

Massachusetts Citizens for Life successfully hosted a virtual speaker series on February 28, 2023, featuring Dr. George Delgado, F.A.A.F.P., Medical Director of Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) and of Culture of Life Family Health Care. The event was hosted on Zoom by the organization's president, Myrna Maloney Flynn.

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Massachusetts Citizens for Life hosted a Pro-life young adult meetup at the Union Street bar & grill in Newton, Massachusetts. 

The event was aimed at young adults who were passionate about the pro-life cause and who wanted to network with like-minded individuals. Despite the harsh weather, enthusiastic pro-life people from all over the state showed up to network, converse and have fun.
