We just learned that both the House (153-0) and the Senate (39-0) unanimously passed HB58, the Supplemental Budget. It passed with an Emergency Preamble, allowing it to take immediate effect. Legislators have sent it to Governor Healey for her signature.
Budget Line item 4513-1006 with $1,250,000 has $1,000,000 set aside for a public campaign that will harm our state's pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) and their ability to serve women. It includes an additional $250,000 for an organization called Reproductive Equity Now, which will use the funds to establish a “free” abortion legal hotline in Massachusetts.
Please take time NOW to contact the governor and urge her to veto the $1 million PRC Smear Campaign from line item 4513-1006 in HB58.
