BOSTON -- Recently, pregnancy resource centers have been wrongly accused and egregiously misrepresented to the media, lawmakers, and the general public. Our reputations have sustained significant damage. Although we prefer to do our life-saving work out of the spotlight, it’s time to shine a bright light on who we are and what we do for all to see and understand.

  • Attacks on Two Pregnancy Centers in Massachusetts

Last night, Worcester’s Problem Pregnancy and Clearway Clinic, pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) run by incredibly caring teams of professionals, were attacked. You can see the vandalism at Clearway in the photo below.

Thankfully, no clinic staff or patients were harmed and no property was stolen. In a statement this morning, Clearway Executive Director Kelly Wilcox wrote, “The 2 perpetrators were caught on video using a hammer to smash our windows and doors. They also spray painted Jane’s Revenge on the front step. Jane’s Revenge is the terrorist group that has been taking credit for vandalizing and firebombing churches and Christian missions across our nation since the Dobbs brief was leaked. These are cowardly acts of domestic terrorism that are an attempt to scare off our efforts to serve women and families. They will not succeed.

  • Petition Against Extreme Abortion Law In Massachusetts

Bill S.1209, better known as An Act to Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access in Massachusetts makes extremism look mild.  Massachusetts has some of the most liberal abortion laws in the nation, and the world.

This bill would make abortion in our Commonwealth unsafe for women, common for our underage daughters, and deadly even to infants born alive during the deadly procedure.

See our quick facts on the ROE Act here

Sign your name below to say no to extremism, no to abandoning our 13-year-old girls to predators, and our women to non-physicians, and no to expanding abortion in our state

(Both pro-life and pro-choice voters in Massachusetts agree: SD1209 throws the health of women to the dogs, abandons minors to sexual predators and big abortion busines, and unnecessarily reduces culpability for abortionists who botch procedures and butcher the patients on their tables.)

RETURN HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST EXTREME ABORTION PROMOTION

Thank you for everything you do in our movement to

restore respect for every human being

    in our Commonwealth.

  • BREAKING: Massachusetts Citizens for Life Praises SCOTUS for Overturning of Roe v. Wade

After 50 years and nearly 65 million lives lost due to abortion on demand, Massachusetts Citizens for Life praises the Supreme Court of the United States for finally overturning Roe v. Wade today.

The Court made the correct decision today with Justice Alito writing the 6-3 majority opinion. (In a 6-3 ruling, the court upheld Mississippi's abortion law banning abortion after 15 weeks. In a 5-4 vote, the justices found there is no constitutional right to abortion and overruled Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern PA v. Casey.) Justice Samuel Alito delivered the court's majority opinion. Justices Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh filed concurring opinions, and Chief Justice John Roberts filed an opinion concurring in the judgment. Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan filed a dissenting opinion.Despite what the pro-abortion lobby and media claim, polls have consistently shown there has never been a majority support for the holding in Roe or Casey that allowed abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy. In fact, in a 2021 Marist poll, 76% of respondents opposed abortion on demand.

Myrna Maloney Flynn, Massachusetts Citizens for Life’s President, said, "This is a moment that life advocates have worked tirelessly for throughout the past half-century. A grave and unjust abuse of judicial power has been corrected. The American people now have a voice, a united voice that, today, raises even louder on behalf of the voiceless. Our work is just beginning, as we aim to bridge the great cultural chasm that Roe v. Wade created. We will not stop working to save the lives of innocent unborn human beings. We will not cease our efforts to understand the needs of their mothers and to extend love and support to every woman who faces a crisis during pregnancy. Women deserve better than abortion. Women and men deserve the truth and every opportunity to live outside the shadow of abortion and in the bright light of real and lasting joy, a joy that comes only from honoring life."

Despite this win for the unborn and the pro-life movement, our work has only begun here in Massachusetts.

The Court’s ruling does not outlaw abortion. Instead, it sends the decisions back to the individual states where duly elected representatives in each state will decide the abortion laws for their particular state. There is no doubt, we have our work cut out for us here in Massachusetts where legislators appear hellbent on making Massachusetts the abortion capitol of the country, even up until the moment of birth.

“Unfortunately, abortions will continue to be available in many places throughout the United States and here in Massachusetts,” says Maloney Flynn. “Pro-abortion legislators in Massachusetts recently passed more funding for abortion and lowered the age for abortion without parental consent from 18 to 16. Despite the scare tactics from the pro-abortion lobby, abortions will unfortunately still happen here in Massachusetts. All of us at Massachusetts Citizens for Life and our thousands of members around the state are dedicated to educating the public about the humanity of the unborn and the resources available to pregnant women who need assistance.”

Massachusetts Citizens for Life is working to educate the public about decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health and how it impacts our abortion laws here in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Citizens for Life is also warning its members to be cautious and vigilant now that numerous threats have been made by radical pro-abortion activists across the country. Since the unprecedented SCOTUS leak this past May, there have been nearly 50 attacks on pro-life institutions ranging from vandalism to arson in states around the country and in Washington DC. We ask any and all of our members to not engage with radical activists and to continue to promote a culture of love.

This victory is the result of years of work by the pro-life movement in legislative, educational, and political areas. That work will now continue with even greater fervor.

  • Read MCFL's statement on Monday's leaked SCOTUS Dobbs decision

BREAKING: Leaked Document Reveals SCOTUS Poised to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Late yesterday, Politico obtained leaked documents from an unknown source which show Justice Samuel Alito's initial draft in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturning Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

The Court is scheduled to share its official ruling on Dobbs before the end of June, and we anticipate that a majority of the justices will rule in its favor. It is also suspected by both sides of the aisle that the Court will rightfully take the appropriate ruling to overturn Roe.

If the Court's opinion holds, Massachusetts Citizens for Life (MCFL) will be very pleased that justices recognized that our Constitution does not imply or permit abortion on demand.

Though this ruling would overturn Roe, it would not outlaw abortion. Pro-life supporters and the press need to understand that such a ruling in Dobbs would return the abortion issue to elected representatives in each state legislature. Unfortunately, abortions will continue to be available across the country in many places, including here in Massachusetts. There will be much work left to do to protect our most vulnerable citizens and support women and men faced with unplanned pregnancies.
