How would you like child tax credits for unborn babies?

By Anne Fox, President of Massachusetts Citizens for Life

A vote is expected on "Child Tax Credit for Pregnant Moms", an amendment sponsored by Sen. Steve Daines to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1). The amendment is cosponsored by Sens. James Lankford, Joni Ernst, Jerry Moran, and Roy Blunt.

The "Child Tax Credit for Pregnant Moms" would extend the existing child tax credit to apply to the unborn child prior to birth and permit the credit to be claimed in the child's first year of life. The credit could only be claimed once the child is born and received a Social Security Number or other tax identification number.

November was Adoption Month. We all know wonderful stories of adoptive families. We know it is extremely difficult to adopt these days because of abortions. Here is a wonderful story to end the month.

And, while we are on the subject of Down syndrome, let us hope it won't get as bad here as it has in other countries.

I think the Senate bill has a very good chance.  It would be an official recognition of the humanity of the unborn child - a huge step!
