Mark Rollo, with the help of Massachusetts Alliance Against Doctor Prescribed Suicide, organized an amazing Doctors' Day at the State House on January 31. Mark; Dr Thomas Sullivan, Past President of the Mass. Medical Society; and Dr Laura Petrillo, a palliative care doctor and teacher at Mass General, addressed legislators and aides and then held a press conference. The speeches are found below.

After that, the 22 doctors in attendance visited with members of the Joint Health Care Committee to explain that the recent decision of the Mass. Medical Society to go "neutral" on doctor-prescribed suicide does not represent many doctors and to tell the members of the problems with the bills.

It was an amazing group of doctors who are to be thanked for coming out in the middle of the day for such an important cause.

A vote is expected on "Child Tax Credit for Pregnant Moms", an amendment sponsored by Sen. Steve Daines to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1). The amendment is cosponsored by Sens. James Lankford, Joni Ernst, Jerry Moran, and Roy Blunt.

Pro-lifers rightly observe that the pro-aborts have taken over the media, entertainment, etc. We also know that it is our job to keep the awful reality of abortion right in front of people. We know that people would rather not think about abortion but, when they are forced to, they come down on the side of life.

A very clever collection of pro-life art on Instagram plays into both these facts. The art posted by Instagram user @jonathonvanmaren gets us into the arts and forces people to think about abortion. I find myself noting certain pieces which I think would be good to share.

On Friday, during the March for Life, Washington DC was full with the happiest most dedicated people you would want to meet.

Our caucus speakers discussed defunding Planned Parenthood, overturning Roe vs Wade, the numbers that shows we are winning, the situation with doctor-prescribed suicide in DC, upcoming state laws in 2017 (indeed, Kentucky and Arkansas have already passed laws to protect life), and what we should expect from the Republicans now that we have given them the House and Senate and the Presidency and will be giving them the Supreme Court. Thanks to Professor Dwight Duncan, Professor Michael Pakaluk, Professor Michael New, Gloria Purvis, Ingrid Duran, and Matt Hanafin. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen spoke at the March pointing out that they have marched many timed before. His speech was beautiful.
