A former Stoughton, Mass., police officer, Matthew Farwell, already facing federal charges in the 2021 killing of 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore, has now been indicted for causing the death of her unborn child.
Prosecutors say Farwell killed Birchmore in Stoughton and that his actions led to the death of her eight-to-ten-week-old unborn son.
Farwell, accused of sexually abusing Birchmore for years, faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted on the new charge.
