A recent AP report notes that pregnancy centers across the U.S.—labeled by AP as “anti-abortion”—are increasingly offering medical services beyond ultrasounds and diapers, including STI testing, primary care, and care for high-risk pregnancies.
The expansion comes as abortion clinics, including Planned Parenthood affiliates, close due to changes in Medicaid funding.
Centers such as Alternatives Pregnancy Center in Sacramento now provide family practice doctors, radiology, and OB-GYN specialists, serving as primary care providers for many patients. AP reports that these centers continue to grow their medical and educational programs to meet community needs, even as pro-abortion groups criticize them for their pro-life stance.
