MCFL is joining a statewide effort to repeal Chapter 188, the late-term abortion law signed by Gov. Healey on August 10 and scheduled to take effect November 8.
Together with Massachusetts Family Action, the Massachusetts Alliance to Stop Taxpayer Funded Abortions and concerned citizens, we are working to gather the signatures needed to bring the law before Massachusetts voters. 37,289 certified signatures are required for repeal, while 49,716 are required to suspend the law while the referendum proceeds.
Our “Hold Them Accountable for Abortion Up to Birth” campaign, which launched August 20, is continuing. We are also moving forward with the referendum to repeal Chapter 188.
For the referendum effort, supporters can help by recruiting volunteers, identifying signature-gathering locations and connecting with eligible voters. More information on how to get involved is coming soon.
