Critics have condemned the practice, emphasizing that children are not products and that terms like “eggs” or “fertilized eggs” dehumanize human life. One commentator noted, “Once fertilization occurs, we are talking about individual human children. The term ‘fertilized egg’ is a misnomer intended to numb the conscience when treating these children as products.”
