Against staggering odds, baby Nash Keen just turned one and made history doing it
Born at exactly 21 weeks' gestation on July 5, 2024 (133 days early), Nash has been officially recognized as the world’s most premature surviving baby.
Weighing just 10 ounces at birth, Nash spent six months in a Level IV neonatal ICU at the University of Iowa Health Care before going home. A year later, he is not only surviving but thriving.
“He still has medical needs but he is strong, silly, and full of life,” said his mom, Mollie. “This birthday is not just a milestone. It is a victory.”
Nash’s remarkable journey is inspiring families and medical professionals worldwide and demonstrates what is possible even in the most uncertain circumstances.
