Wisconsin baby rescued after anonymous surrender in Safe Haven box

A newborn baby boy was rescued this week when a mother anonymously surrendered him in Wisconsin’s first Safe Haven Baby Box, installed at the Racine Fire Department, reported LifeNews.com.

The infant, healthy and just hours old, is now in state custody and will enter the adoption system, giving him a chance at a loving family.

The climate-controlled box offers a 24/7, confidential lifeline for mothers in crisis, providing a safe alternative to abandonment or infanticide. Pro-life advocates hailed the surrender as a courageous act of love, highlighting the power of compassionate solutions to protect life.

Help spread the word about Safe Havens

Across Massachusetts, too many parents in crisis still don’t know they have a safe, legal way to protect their newborn. The Baby Safe Haven Law offers that option, but only if people know it exists.

MCFL is equipping volunteers with free Safe Haven signs to display in hospitals, fire stations, police departments, and local gathering places. These signs raise awareness, offer hope, and may truly be the difference between life and loss.
