An expectant couple in Canada experienced an emotional moment during a routine ultrasound appointment when their unborn baby girl appeared to respond to her father’s voice.
Lia Oliveira said she was overwhelmed with emotion after seeing the unexpected moment captured on the ultrasound screen.
During the appointment, the baby’s father spoke to his daughter while kissing Oliveira’s belly and greeting her. Shortly afterward, the baby appeared to smile on the ultrasound image, prompting excitement from the family and others in the room. Oliveira’s sister recorded the moment, which the family later shared publicly.
Oliveira described the experience as a “core memory” and said she was grateful that the moment could bring joy to others.
