A new bill, the Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act of 2025 (H.R. 2226), has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), and Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN).
This legislation aims to prevent federal, state, and local governments from discriminating against pregnancy care centers because of their life-affirming mission.
Pregnancy care centers provide essential, free services to pregnant women and families, including prenatal care, parenting education, and material assistance. Despite their vital role, these centers have faced increasing attacks from pro-abortion lawmakers seeking to limit their ability to serve. Advocates, including pregnancy center leaders from New Jersey and New York, praised the bill as a necessary step to protect their life-saving work.
A recent poll shows that 83% of Americans support pregnancy care centers, yet some states continue to target these organizations with lawsuits and restrictive regulations. This bill would ensure that pregnancy centers can continue offering compassionate care without government interference.
