A baby girl born at just 24 weeks of gestation, weighing only 300 grams (about 10.6 ounces), roughly the weight of two slices of bread, has survived thanks to the dedicated care of medical staff at University Children’s Hospital Magdeburg in Germany.
Her hands were the size of fingertips and her head was smaller than a clenched fist.
She spent nearly two months on a ventilator before breathing independently and is now a healthy, thriving toddler. Doctors describe her survival as an extraordinary medical success, showcasing the remarkable resilience of extremely premature infants when given expert care.
