On this day in 2019, the Massachusetts Citizens for Life Board of Directors elected a new leader. She accepted the invitation to serve and quickly focused on a two-step mission: educate and mobilize.
During the past seven years, with the support of a collaborative and farsighted Board, President Myrna Maloney Flynn and her staff have guided an evolution within the organization and across the Commonwealth.
Watch: Seven years of leadership at MCFL
The state’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, MCFL remains today’s most dynamic defender of vulnerable human life, largely due to Flynn’s strategic vision and determination to realize it. The national pro-life community has come to recognize Massachusetts Citizens for Life as a highly effective ally. In the last seven years, with thousands of grassroots partners statewide, MCFL has:
- Called out the Healey administration for shipping abortion pills across the country, contributing to the loss of an estimated 50,000 unborn children in 2024 alone.
- Fought for pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) when the state’s taxpayer-funded smear campaign targeted them; as a result, all PRCs remain open, serving women in need.
- Promoted and testified to the efficacy and life-saving potential of Abortion Pill Reversal therapy.
- Repeatedly protected parents’ rights by opposing efforts to eliminate parental consent and minimum age restrictions for abortion.
- Supported women through Choose Life license plate grants.
- Launched provocative statewide initiatives such as Truth About Choice memorial displays.
- Informed thousands about the biology of fetal development and the humanity of the unborn child.
Members, like this Worcester County resident, have experienced MCFL’s impact firsthand:
“As a long-time supporter of MCFL, I have regularly participated in your Legislative Action Center to contact my elected officials regarding pro-life legislation. The system has been remarkably effective. In fact, much to my surprise, the first time I introduced myself in person last year to my pro-abortion state senator, Michael Moore, he immediately replied, ‘Oh yes—you’re the one who’s always sending me emails supporting pro-life legislation, right?’ That experience reinforced my belief that our advocacy efforts truly make a difference."
Take a look back at the gains made over the past seven years with Myrna at the helm. Then join us in collective gratitude for our donors, whose generosity has made it possible for her and her team to work diligently to build a culture of life.
If you are not yet a supporter, please consider making a gift today. Under Myrna’s continued leadership, and with steady guidance from newly elected Chairman Paul DeBeasi, MCFL’s potential has never been more promising.
Together, we will continue to soften hearts and change minds, and help women while protecting their children.
For LIFE,
Massachusetts Citizens for Life Team
