South Korea recorded 240,000 marriages in 2025, an 8.1% increase over 2024, continuing a three-year rebound from an 11-year decline.

The average age at first marriage remained steady at 33.9 for men and 31.6 for women, with brides older than grooms in 20% of unions. International marriages declined to 8.6%, and divorces fell 3.3% to 88,000. The trends provide a modest demographic boost amid concerns over low fertility and an aging population.
