The U.S. Department of Justice under the Trump-Vance administration moved to dismiss lawsuits from Florida and Texas challenging the FDA’s mail-order abortion drug policy, marking the second such action in a week.
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser condemned the move, calling it a “slap in the face” to pro-life states and voters.
Dannenfelser highlighted efforts by Republican lawmakers, including Josh Hawley and Diana Harshbarger, to introduce legislation withdrawing FDA approval of abortion drugs. The statement emphasized concerns over public safety, the impact on vulnerable populations, and growing frustration among pro-life voters ahead of the midterm elections.
A recent survey found that Republican primary voters overwhelmingly oppose mail-order abortion drugs and support pro-life policies like the Hyde Amendment, with one-third indicating decreased enthusiasm to vote if pro-life measures are abandoned.
