Pro-life pregnancy centers win challenge to Delaware speech law

Pro-life pregnancy centers have secured a legal victory after Delaware officials agreed to permanently stop enforcing a law that restricted their speech and required government-mandated disclosures, according to Alliance Defending Freedom.

The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates and A Door of Hope challenged Delaware Senate Bill 300, arguing that the law unconstitutionally limited their ability to communicate with women and families and forced them to promote messages that conflicted with their mission.

As part of the settlement, Delaware officials agreed to a court order permanently blocking enforcement of the law. The agreement allows pregnancy centers to continue providing life-affirming support and resources without the disputed speech requirements.

The case adds to ongoing legal efforts to protect the free speech rights of pregnancy care centers serving women and families across the country.
