Pope Leo XIV’s journey began with a pro-life march

Before becoming pope, Robert F. Prevost—now Pope Leo XIV—was a committed pro-life advocate.

While at Villanova University from 1973 to 1977, he helped found Villanovans for Life in 1974, the nation’s oldest college pro-life group, and took part in early March for Life protests against Roe v. Wade. His lifelong dedication to defending the unborn continues to shape his global leadership today.
