South Dakota has secured a settlement requiring the New York based group Mayday Health to cease abortion pill advertisements in the state following legal action brought by Attorney General Marty Jackley.
State officials said the lawsuit addressed allegedly deceptive advertising practices and resulted in an agreement to remove existing materials and prevent similar advertisements in South Dakota in the future. The settlement reflects enforcement of state law and concludes the litigation between the parties in South Dakota.
The case is part of ongoing legal disputes involving out of state abortion pill trafficking and state authority over advertising within their borders.
