New Repeal188.com website provides information on MA abortion law repeal

As the statewide effort to suspend and repeal Massachusetts’ new abortion law moves forward, our partners on the initiative, Massachusetts Family Action, are developing Repeal188.com as a central resource for supporters.

The website provides information about the repeal effort, the issue, petition-signing locations, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.

The law, which will allow abortions to be performed up to birth, including in cases involving healthy mothers and viable unborn babies, is scheduled to take effect November 8 after Gov. Healey signed it on August 10 following its controversial passage in both the House and Senate. The referendum effort must gather 37,289 certified signatures to qualify for repeal, with 49,716 signatures needed to suspend the law while the referendum proceeds.

We have received many questions about the referendum and what supporters can do next. Repeal188.com is being developed to provide a central place for answers and opportunities to participate as the effort moves forward.

The website is still being built, and additional information and resources will be added. Visit Repeal188.com and check back regularly for updates as this statewide effort continues.
