Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has signed an executive order removing Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses from the state’s Medicaid program.
Funding previously directed to abortion-committing providers will now go to healthcare providers that do not perform abortions.
Pro-life groups praised the move as a step toward protecting life and upholding Nebraska’s pro-life values. The action follows the Supreme Court ruling in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, which confirmed states can defund abortion providers.
