Massachusetts Citizens for Life announced the election of Paul DeBeasi as its new Chairman during the organization’s annual members meeting held June 27 in Bellingham.

The MCFL Board unanimously selected DeBeasi to lead the organization’s next chapter of advocacy and operations.

DeBeasi is a bioethics author and speaker with a master’s degree in bioethics from the University of Mary, along with engineering degrees from Cornell University and Boston University. His professional background includes senior leadership roles in technology and research, including Chief of Research at Gartner and systems engineering at Bell Laboratories.

A lifelong Massachusetts resident, DeBeasi is married with three adult sons and is active in the Knights of Columbus. He has served on local school boards and participated in pro-life initiatives. In 2023, he initiated and co-developed APRScience.org, an educational nonprofit project of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, designed to provide clinicians and researchers with access to medical evidence on Abortion Pill Reversal.

DeBeasi succeeds J. David Franks, PhD, who served in the role for 15 years. Following a proposal by MCFL Clerk Michael Wiseman, Franks was unanimously honored as Chairman Emeritus of MCFL by the board.
