This week, the Massachusetts Legislature placed all the pro-life bills we support at Massachusetts Citizens for Life under “study order,” effectively blocking them from advancing during the current 2025–2026 legislative session.
While the session continues through the year, study orders prevent these bills from moving forward, closing the opportunity for these important protections to become law.
The bills affected include measures to prevent coerced abortion, protect pregnancy resource centers from taxpayer-funded advertising, support pregnant and parenting families, defund Planned Parenthood, and safeguard the health of mothers and born-alive infants.
This is another setback for pro-life citizens in Massachusetts. Despite this, we remain focused on opposing bills that expand abortion and assisted suicide, including H.1991, H.1815, H.2505/S.1486, and S.1563/H.2370. We encourage everyone to use our Legislative Action Center to submit testimony and contact their legislators to make their voices heard.
We must continue our efforts to protect unborn children and vulnerable people, and to defend the conscience rights of all Massachusetts citizens.
