Martha Coakley targets pro-life speech in new Massachusetts lawsuit

Former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is once again leading legal efforts to silence pro-life ministries.

Now representing the abortion facility Four Women Health Services, which is located just across the parking lot from Abundant Hope, a Pregnancy Care Alliance of Massachusetts member, Coakley is targeting Choose Life Marketing, a group that supports pregnancy centers by providing life-affirming resources to women facing difficult pregnancies.

This lawsuit is not a simple business dispute but a dangerous attempt to label pro-life speech “deceptive” and restrict the free exchange of truth about abortion alternatives. It echoes Coakley’s record of opposing pro-life efforts, including her defense of Massachusetts’ 35-foot buffer zone law struck down by the Supreme Court for violating the First Amendment.

The stakes extend beyond Massachusetts: a win for abortion advocates here could threaten pregnancy centers nationwide, silencing ministries that offer free ultrasounds, counseling, and hope to women. The Thomas More Society is fighting to protect the constitutional rights of Choose Life and all pro-life voices.
