Mail-order abortion backlash could cost Republicans in 2026 midterms

A nationwide survey by Cygnal and released by the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America finds Republican primary voters, including Trump and MAHA supporters, overwhelmingly oppose mail-order abortion drugs and back pro-life policies like the Hyde Amendment.

Key findings:

  • 80% want in-person visits required for abortion drugs.
  • 86% oppose federal funding for abortion.
  • 79% support the Hyde Amendment; 75% support defunding Planned Parenthood.
  • About one-third say they would be less enthusiastic about voting or volunteering if pro-life protections are ignored.

SBA Pro-Life America warns that the Trump-Vance administration’s policy under Secretary RFK Jr. risks turning off the party’s most passionate voters, potentially affecting outcomes in the 2026 midterm elections.
