Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman has filed a civil lawsuit against Mayday Health, a New York-based activist organization accused of violating state law by advertising the mail-order delivery of abortion pills.
Mayday Health has advertised abortion-inducing drugs at Kentucky gas stations and flown a banner promoting them over the Kentucky State Fair. Coleman’s lawsuit asks a court to permanently halt the advertisements and impose penalties under Kentucky’s Consumer Protection Act.
Kentucky has prohibited the mailing or delivery of abortion-inducing drugs since 2022. The lawsuit follows an investigation announced by Coleman in January into Mayday Health advertisements at gas stations in Christian, Simpson and Logan counties.
Coleman said the state will not allow the advertisements to “put our people at risk,” particularly at an event attended by families and children.
