Vulnerable, low-income women were recruited as egg donors and surrogates, often facing serious health risks like Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome and internal bleeding. Investigations revealed widespread clinic negligence, falsified records, and unqualified staff, with some parents receiving babies unrelated to them.
