US House moves to repeal law used to target pro-lifers

The House Judiciary Committee has advanced a bill to repeal the FACE Act, a law used almost exclusively to prosecute peaceful pro-life advocates while ignoring attacks on churches and pregnancy centers.

Led by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), the FACE Act Repeal Act of 2025 seeks to end what Roy calls a “weaponized” law. From 1994 to 2024, 97% of FACE Act prosecutions targeted pro-lifers. President Trump recently pardoned 23 individuals jailed under the law—two of whom are Massachusetts residents and MCFL allies. Roy says repeal is essential to prevent future abuse
