Haverhill’s All Saints Parish will host a Mother’s Day unveiling of a pro-life sculpture known as the “Life Monument,” created by Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz.
The weekend event begins May 9 with a preview and artist meet-and-greet, followed by a May 10 Mass and formal dedication ceremony at the parish.
The bronze and mirrored steel sculpture depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Christ Child in the womb and is described by the parish as a reflection on the value of human life. Organizers say it will be the first installation of the work inside a U.S. parish church.
The celebration will include music, reflections, and community gatherings at All Saints Parish in Haverhill.
