In a deeply disturbing case out of Scotland, a former paramedic has been sentenced to over 10 years in prison after secretly inserting abortion drugs into a woman without her knowledge during sex.
Stephen Doohan, who once appeared on the BBC documentary Paramedics on Scene, attacked after the woman informed him she was pregnant.
Doohan used his medical access to research the drugs, then concealed them during a visit she made to see him. He pressured her to lie to hospital staff and orchestrated a cover-up until she eventually reported the crime. A judge condemned his premeditated actions and the lasting psychological and physical harm inflicted on the victim.
This case is a sobering reminder of how abortion drugs—intended to end a life—can also be used to commit calculated violence. It underscores the need for strong legal safeguards and accountability, especially as some push to expand access to abortion drugs with minimal oversight.
