Full-term abortion repeal effort

We are well on our way to restoring power to Massachusetts voters.

Though activist legislators and Governor Healey forced a full-term abortion bill into law, legislation permitting complex induction abortions outside of hospitals, thereby endangering women, constituents like you are standing up in fierce opposition. And your courage is starting to pay off.

Here's where things stand less than three weeks after the attorney general approved the Compassionate Care Coalition's (CCC) petition to repeal Chapter 188 of the Acts of 2026:

1. Repeal188.com designed, launched and functioning as the statewide hub, featuring volunteer signup forms and critical "dos and don'ts" that every person needs to read BEFORE getting involved.

2. Coalition partners added.

3. Hundreds of volunteers vetted and assigned.

4. A series of virtual training sessions held, with several set for this week -- starting tonight! See schedule below. (If you have not yet signed up to volunteer, please do so. Once you are vetted, you'll be assigned to help.)

5. Signature sheets printed and distributed statewide. Very soon, the Repeal188 website will list locations where you can pick up or sign these sheets.

6. Permission from all four Massachusetts Catholic bishops granted to parish priests to host on-site signature collections.

Regarding Church partnership, the CCC published the following statement:

The Compassionate Care Coalition applauds the Catholic bishops’ decision to actively support our repeal initiative. That all four bishops asked every Massachusetts priest to participate reflects the gravity of the new full-term abortion law. In their united courage, the bishops demonstrate what each of us must do: step forward to defend our most vulnerable women and children. We are grateful for the Church’s leadership and its urgent call for “all of the faithful” to get involved. Our Coalition looks forward to fruitful collaboration during our signature gathering effort.

In short, the petition drive is underway and gains momentum by the minute!

You can help advance the success of this effort now simply by forwarding this information to other Massachusetts residents. Remember, even the majority of people who consider themselves "pro-choice" do not support late-term abortion. It's up to each of us to encourage participation from every registered voter.

We have 24 days to get this done. And we will. Thank you for doing your part in this historic team effort across the Commonwealth!
