Foster parents banned in Vermont for refusing to affirm gender ideology

Despite an urgent shortage of foster homes, Vermont has revoked the licenses of two Christian families solely because of their beliefs about biological sex.

The Wuoti and Gantt families, praised for their loving care and track record of adoption, were disqualified after expressing that they could not, in good conscience, promote gender ideology or take children to Pride events.

The message from the state is clear: affirm the government’s ideology or be barred from helping vulnerable children, no matter your qualifications, record, or willingness to love and serve.

Alliance Defending Freedom has filed a lawsuit in federal court on behalf of the families in Wuoti v. Winters, defending the principle that no family should be forced to violate their faith to welcome a child in need.
