New state data confirms that Florida’s six-week heartbeat law is saving lives.
According to the Agency for Health Care Administration, abortions performed in Florida clinics fell from over 82,000 in 2022 to just over 44,200 last year, the lowest in more than a decade.
While some women still seek abortions out of state or through telehealth, the law is clearly helping more babies survive and protecting women from the long-term grief associated with abortion.
