The Trump administration has asked a judge to toss a lawsuit from Idaho, Kansas, and Missouri aimed at blocking telehealth access to mifepristone—the drug now used in most U.S. abortions.
The states are resisting the FDA's loosening of regulations on this drug; however, the Department of Justice argued that the states lack legal standing in this case.
This comes as a major new study reveals over 10% of women suffer serious complications within 45 days of taking the pill, 22 times higher than the FDA estimates. Pro-life experts call on the FDA to reinstate safety protocols and reconsider its approval.
