In a move consistent with its Catholic mission, DePaul University has removed a student group for its affiliation with Planned Parenthood.
The group, Planned Parenthood Generation Action DePaul, was told to disband after university officials noted the group’s ties to an organization whose core mission directly contradicts Catholic teaching.
A DePaul spokesperson explained the decision plainly: student organizations are not allowed to partner with outside groups “whose core missions are in direct conflict with the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.” Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, falls into that category.
The group may only continue if it severes all ties with Planned Parenthood or any other abortion provider.
