A baby was surrendered at the Union Township Fire Station in Clermont County, Ohio, using the Safe Haven Baby Box program.
Fire Chief Austin Clements confirmed the infant was healthy and that firefighters followed proper procedures, handing the baby over to the Department of Family Services. Monica Kelsey, founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, notes that every baby surrendered through the program has been adopted.
Across Massachusetts, many parents in crisis still don’t know they have a safe, legal option to protect their newborns. MCFL is raising awareness by equipping volunteers with free Safe Haven signs to display in hospitals, fire stations, police departments, and community spaces. These signs can make a real difference between life and loss.
