Baby left to die sucking thumb following late-term abortion in Australia

A baby in Australia, born alive after a failed late-term abortion, was left to die alone while sucking his thumb, according to a hospital whistleblower who provided a photograph of the infant.

Known as Samuel, he survived the procedure but received no care.

Dr. Joanna Howe, Professor of Law at the University of Adelaide, shared photos and information from health workers, noting this is not an isolated case. In 2022, around 50 babies in Queensland survived abortions only to be left to die. Another baby, Amira, healthy at 25 weeks, was lethally injected and delivered dead.

Since abortion was decriminalized in Australia, terminations are allowed up to birth for physical, psychological, or social reasons, often resulting in de facto abortion on demand.
