A woman, identified as "Jane Doe," is suing an abortionist for medical negligence after remnants of her unborn child were left inside her following a late-term abortion.
Doe, five months pregnant with her fifth child, sought an abortion at the Equity Clinic in Champaign, Illinois. Days later, she required emergency surgery to remove parts of her 22-week-old child, which had been left inside her due to a perforated uterus during the procedure. The lawsuit claims that the clinic failed to properly examine her post-abortion and did not respond appropriately when she reported complications. The abortionist, Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, allegedly refused to provide critical information when contacted by the emergency surgeon. The case highlights concerns about the adequacy of abortion care, especially when it involves late-term procedures.
