South Carolina Republican lawmakers introduced the Prenatal Equal Protection Act this week, a bill classifying abortion as murder from conception.
The legislation would apply homicide and wrongful death laws to all parties involved, including the pregnant woman, making it the strongest anti-abortion law in state history.
State Sen. Lee Bright, the bill’s sponsor, said, “These children deserve equal protection (...) I know we've got hearts and minds to change.”
