A first birthday

We are celebrating this week! With one quick click, you can join the festivities and make Massachusetts history at the same time.

As you may know, last April, in collaboration with a small group of determined women, we launched the Pregnancy Care Alliance of Massachusetts (PCAll). This network of pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) originated in response to government officials at the local and state levels, who sought to prevent the charitable efforts of PRCs.

What a year it has been!

  • PCAll grew and now includes member PRCs from across the state.
  • Your support funded our first public awareness campaign, through which women told their stories of being helped by PRCs.
  • We installed a Braintree billboard.
  • We offered PRC tours to the public, our legislators and the hostile press.
  • We testified against legislative attempts to censor PRCs and rallied residents across the state to do the same; as a result, every PRC is still serving women!
  • The media took notice.
  • A top leader at NIFLA (National Institute of Family and Life Advocates) praised PCAll recently for being “ahead of the game” nationally!

We need your help promoting PCAll’s next project. So, here’s where that single click comes in.

If you have not yet done so, add your name to our new petition, which calls on Governor Healey, Attorney General Andrea Campbell, each state senator and representative, as well as the commissioner of the Department of Public Health, to not only withdraw all attempts to thwart the work of our PRCs but also to issue a public acknowledgment that PRCs offer the choice women deserve.

Then, please share the petition with your networkWe need thousands of signatures if we’re going to convince our friends on Beacon Hill that PRCs are worth saving.

At our Celebration of Life Day on June 25, women helped by Massachusetts PRCs will personally deliver hard copies of each petition throughout the State House and share their stories with legislators. (I hope you’ll join us that morning, by the way! More details on our speaker lineup coming soon.)

If you’re unfamiliar with the battle PRCs have been fighting, here’s some context:

Results from a 2023 public records request by Massachusetts Citizens for Life to the Attorney General’s office revealed that, in more than four decades of service to tens of thousands of clients, not one complaint of merit has ever been filed against a Massachusetts PRC.

Despite providing material goods, healthcare and counseling services, the value of which exceeds tens of millions of dollars over the course of their history, PRCs have faced mounting pressure from the state, hindering their ability to effectively offer a life-affirming choice to women. Senator Elizabeth Warren cut to the chase back in July 2022, publicly saying of PRCs, “We need to shut them down.”

Learn more on our websites, including specifics on the state’s attacks, the most recent from the Department of Public Health in January.

It is up to us to protect our PRCs. Sign then share our petition today. Forward this email or paste the petition link on social media.

We will keep you updated on how many signatures we receive in the weeks ahead. Thank you for your partnership in this critical effort, Content.

Warmly,

Myrna
