A new report from the Denver-based pro-abortion group "Society of Family Planning" shows a sharp increase in abortions across the U.S. following the Dobbs decision.
According to their report, 1.14 million abortions occurred in 2024, with one in four now delivered via telehealth. Abortions provided under so-called “shield laws”—which bypass pro-life state laws by mailing abortion pills across state lines—averaged over 12,000 per month by the end of the year.
The report’s findings appear consistent with official data from Massachusetts. In 2023, there were 24,355 abortions in the Commonwealth, with 5,744 (nearly one in four) performed through telehealth. Yet only 1,397 of those were for Massachusetts residents, indicating that a significant number of women are accessing abortion pills from out of state.
This troubling trend highlights the rapid expansion of telehealth abortion.
