Pro-Life Communication? It Isn't Complicated, But Stephanie Gray Shows You How

Posted on In The News by C.J. Williams · October 21, 2020 6:04 AM · 1 reaction

Stephane Gray has been defending preborn lives since she was a child. She began speaking as an 18 year old, and that pro-life action lead her to found Love Unleashes Life and an international speaking career. She makes effective, loving, and compelling communication in defense of our most vulnerable look easy. But the truth is, the principle that human lives have value is simple, but defending that reality, and the preborn children in our world, is far from easy.

Gray will headline our sponsored virtual debate hosted by Harvard Right to Life on Thursday, October 22 at 7PM (register here).

"There are more people working full time to kill [preborn children] in the world today than to save them," Scott Klusendorf told Gray early on.

The fact that more people were professionally employed to take a child's life in our society than to care for them convicted Gray to the core.

After decades using communication to change our culture and society, what can Gray teach us?

This recording produced by Shalom World  featuring Gray walks you through the basic questions raised, from the so-called hard questions (rape, incest) to the basic presuppositions we must challenge before we begin a dialogue. Most importantly, it highlights the fact that effective communication always begins with respect and love. Human beings are complex, and we come to public square with both our heads and our hearts. With 1 out 3 millennial children aborted, nearly everyone you meet will have a personal experience of abortion violence, not simply an intellectual understanding -- or misunderstanding -- of it.

To be effective communicators, we must build relationships, not arguments alone.

Finally, this recording raises the knotty philosophical idea of "personhood" -- and Gray's reply is invaluably clear. This question will also come up in our debate on Thursday. Don't miss that fantastic opportunity to see and hear Gray live.

Until then, watch Shalom World's  feature on Gray's personal story, and the remarkable description of how she approaches and answers every pro-life debate.

MCFL Goes Head-to-Head with NARAL on "R.O.E." Act (S.1209/H.3320)

Posted on In The News by C.J. Williams · June 12, 2019 11:47 AM

With just days to go before the committee hearing of the extreme abortion expansion bill, S.1209/H.3320, (the "R.O.E." Act) MCFL went head-to-head with NARAL on WGBH's Greater Boston!

WATCH THE FULL SEGMENT HERE

Watch it now, and let us know what you think of NARAL's response to why we would remove medical safety regulations for our women (when they seek an abortion).

Does "it's a deeply personal decision" sound like a valid argument for killing a child, or making abortion unsafe, legal, and promoted at the expense of women and girls' lives?

The Precious Feet pin has become the international symbol of the pro-life movement and millions of them have been distributed over the years, but did you know the story of how they came to be? It was one pro-life doctor's desire to document the reality of abortion. This is his story.

Gosnell Movie, Nov. 10th, Free Exclusive Early Screening

The movie Gosnell is very effective and moving, and is based heavily on the report of the grand jury in Philadelphia. The documentary reports the case of Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist convicted in 2013 in the first degree murder of three infants and involuntary murder of a mother following an abortion. There may have bee hundreds of other murders of newborn infants, not to mention the thousands of abortion. His abortion facility was called a house of horrors for the unspeakable and disgusting conditions that investigators called the worst they’d ever seen.

The film really moves along and is very persuasive. It will not open in general release until 2017, but the filmmakers have made a special showing available for us on November 10, to which the public is invited for free. This will be a great motivator to keep going after the election. You'll want to mark your calendar and register right now!

The movie will be at Boston College's Devlin Hall with a meet and greet starting at 6pm and the movie at 7pm. To RSVP call 617-969-8383 or email [email protected].

Voiceless Movie Gives a Voice

Posted on In The News by Domenico Bettinelli · September 27, 2016 4:21 PM

A new movie out on October 7 depicts the story of a recently discharged soldier who has found God and a new faith. He goes to work in a church reaching out to the community and discovers there’s an abortion facility across the street from the church. He tries to get people involved in closing it down, but meets resistance from all sides. Eventually he has to make a choice whether to put everything in his life on the line or walk away from the babies who are Voiceless.

There is not yet any group sponsoring a showing in Massachusetts, but if any of our members or supporters are interested in organizing to bring Voiceless to Massachusetts, the movie’s promoters provide a complete kit on their web site.

mildredjefferson.jpg

Dr. Mildred Jefferson was the first African-American woman to attend Harvard Medical School, and did so at age 20, which would have been a remarkable lifetime achievement if she’d done nothing further. But her true mark on our nation and our Commonwealth came in her work for Massachusetts Citizens for Life as one of our founders and as she traveled and spoke throughout the country, converting many thousands to the pro-life cause, including President Ronald Reagan.

You can learn more about this amazing woman’s life work in the following profile of Dr. Jefferson from the National Right to Life Committee.

9 Months That Made You

Posted on In The News by Domenico Bettinelli · June 29, 2016 4:40 PM

9monthstthatmadeyou.jpg

Starting tonight, PBS is offering a new series about the first 9 months of our lives and what happens from conception to birth. It’s called “9 Months That Made You” and was produced by the BBC.

While we can’t expect a public broadcasting program to be explicitly pro-life and anti-abortion, from a pro-life perspective anything that highlights to a national audience the reality of the humanity of the unborn child is welcome. We encourage you to watch with a critical eye and to be prepared to share with others the beauty of life and to offer an alternative to any parts of the show that may not entirely jibe with the reality of the personhood of the unborn.
