On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, there will be a public hearing held by the Joint Committee on Public Health at Gardner Auditorium in the Massachusetts State House.
The hearing, scheduled from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, will focus on two significant MCFL bills.
We urge your support for these bills and invite you to provide testimony, either in person or by submitting a written testimony.
The two bills under consideration are as follows:
H.2181 - An Act protecting the health of the mother and a born alive fetus after the second trimester (also known as An Act relative to protecting women's health/preserving maternal and unborn child life).
- H.2277 - An Act relative to victims of Down syndrome.
If you plan to submit written testimony you may do so before or after the hearing. You can use our Legislative Action Center to submit your written testimony using the following links:
We highly encourage the submission of written testimony, which will be accepted even after the hearing until the relevant bill is acted upon. If you choose to submit written testimony via email, kindly send it to [email protected]. Please ensure that the subject line of your email includes "Public Health Committee Testimony, [Bill Number]."
Please be aware that the public hearing will be recorded and archived for future viewing. If you do not plan to testify but would like to observe the proceedings, you can watch the livestream under the Hearings & Events section of the legislative website.
We deeply appreciate your support in advancing these bills that uphold the sanctity of life.
