Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey has signed legislation expanding the state’s 2022 “shield law,” enabling abortion providers to prescribe and ship abortion pills, including mifepristone, into states where the procedure is restricted or banned.
The law conceals the identities of those involved in such “telehealth abortions,” even if they violate other states’ laws.
Myrna Maloney Flynn, president of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, criticized the measure for protecting illegal activity and endangering women’s health, while reaffirming MCFL’s commitment to life-affirming alternatives like abortion pill reversal.
