A U.S. Army captain has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to secretly administering the abortion drug mifepristone to a pregnant junior enlisted soldier, resulting in the loss of the unborn child at approximately 13 weeks, according to reporting cited by SBA Pro-Life America and military media outlets.
Capt. Brandon Jones-Adams admitted to charges including intentional killing of his unborn child, domestic violence, fraternization, and conduct unbecoming an officer. Prosecutors said he obtained mifepristone online under a false identity and later slipped it into the victim’s drink while the two were stationed together following a deployment to South Korea. The soldier later sought emergency medical care after experiencing severe cramping and was informed she had lost the pregnancy.
The case has been cited by SBA Pro-Life America as an example of abortion drug coercion and abuse. The organization, alongside more than 80 allied groups, is urging the U.S. Department of Justice to support restrictions on mail-order access to abortion drugs amid ongoing litigation involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
