The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services urging an investigation into whether federally-funded family medicine residency programs are violating federal conscience protections.
Some programs may be compelling medical residents to perform abortions or promote gender ideology against their religious or ethical beliefs.
“Doctors and medical professionals are bound by oath to ‘do no harm,’” said Matt Bowman, ADF Senior Counsel. “Yet some federally-funded health care programs are forcing future doctors to train in abortions or push gender ideology. President Trump’s health department has rightly sought to enforce conscience rights and protect human life, and now has a chance to ensure no tax dollars fund harm to children, born or unborn.”
