With Gov. Charlie Baker coming up for re-election in two years, Massachusetts liberals are gearing up for a big push in the Legislature for their agenda that they hope will push Baker more to the left.
While this WGBH story concentrates on issues that aren’t directly within Massachusetts Citizens for Life’s own legislative agenda, a more liberal trend in the Legislature would tend to sweep the whole agenda that way, including bills affecting LIFE issues. This especially includes doctor-prescribed suicide, which we expect to see again.
That’s one of the reasons this November’s election is so vital. In order to hold the line and even make some incremental gains, pro-lifers must send pro-life legislators to Beacon Hill. In the next few weeks, MCFL’s State PAC will be releasing a list of endorsements and recommendations for various state offices. We encourage our members and supporters to consider that list and to look closely at every open race on their ballot.
We hope that more pro-lifers will also consider getting directly involved in the political process by standing for election. Let your voice be heard and make a difference in our Commonwealth.
