We have some exciting things coming up for students and young adults!
National Right to Life video contest for young people, 15-25
Deadline for submission is June 15, 2016. See the NRLC web site for rules and details.
Dr Mildred F Jefferson Oratory Contest.
High school juniors and seniors (or the equivalent homeschooling levels) may win a chance in this contest to represent Massachusetts in Washington, DC!
The 2016 winner is Isabelle Germino and she will receive a trip, including a parent or chaperone, to the National Right to Life Convention, July 7-9, 2016. She and her parent will also hear the wonderful speakers at the Convention and meet active students from around the country. As the Massachusetts winner, Isabelle also will give her winning speech at the Assembly for Life, Jan 22,2017 in Faneuil Hall.
Please note that the Massachusetts contest is held every other year, so juniors should be sure to participate when eligible. The contest is held during the MCFL Convention. Contest participants will be our guests for the Convention and lunch. Anyone considering entering should check the rules, on the NRLC site and register with Linda Thayer, MCFL Vice-President of Educational Affairs, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Student Lobby Days
Open to all ages, but most appropriate for high school students, the day includes a presentation of MCFL legislation pending at the State House, an overview of the legislative process by pro-life legislators, a tour of the State House, free lunch, and lobby visits to legislators who represent visiting students. Ideal group size is 15-25, so we suggest members of a U.S. History or a biology class or members of a pro-life or other club.
Please encourage your teacher or club advisor to arrange for your day. Contact MCFL at email@example.com.
