By Anne Fox, President of Massachusetts Citizens for Life
In 1983 the Irish people amended their Constitution to protect all life. During the year leading up to the vote, Molly Slade— God rest her soul—and I went to every Irish festival in Massachusetts and surrounding states. We knew the Irish people were pro-life but we knew the pro-lifers over there did not have the materials to educate people about the amendment. We put together a basic packet that weighed exactly 1/2 oz.
We offered to give packets to people for free if they would promise to mail them to friends and relatives in Ireland. We gave away hundreds of packets and met so many wonderful people. The Irish did the right thing and we always looked on it as one of our better projects.
Now the UN is trying to force Ireland to legalize abortion. It’s so unacceptable on so many levels, but scary that UN bureaucrats think they have any right to do that.
